Alissa Bertsch Johnson is the Executive Director/Campus Pastor for the Wesley Foundation at WSU. Alissa joined the campus ministry team at WSU in 2008 after serving at UCLA for two years. She graduated from WSU in 2001 and served as a peer minister at the Interfaith House for two years. Alissa’s favorite thing about her job is the students! She is always up for hanging out and talking with students – you can call her, text her, Facebook, or just stop by her office! She encourages students to be as active in leadership as they want to be so let her know your ideas and dreams for your ministry so she can help you make it happen!

Phil Mixter
Campus Minister
Phil Mixter is the Episcopal Campus Minister at WSU. Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Phil is a life-long Episcopalian. He attended Oregon State University and was a peer minister in the Episcopal Campus Ministry at OSU. After graduating, he moved to Southern California and worked for a biotechnology company before graduate training at the University of California - Los Angeles School of Medicine. He moved to Pullman in 1995, teaching science courses in microbiology and immunology. He is a member of St. James' Episcopal Church in Pullman and has served on the Common Ministry Council. He also coordinates Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the regional Episcopal Diocese of Spokane and is active in the leadership of Camp Cross, an Episcopal camp on Lake Coeur d'Alene. He enjoys discovering God's grace with students and young adults. He is married to Alison Mixter and has a college age daughter. His hobbies include gardening, canoeing, snow skiing, do-it-yourself projects at home and restoring old trucks.
