Habitat For Humanity

Helping families by building homes is the mission of Habitat for Humanity.  Since 1976 the group has built more than 500,000 homes.   Volunteer labor and no interest loans significantly reduce the monthly cost of home ownership.  Our local affiliate, Palouse Habitat for Humanity, identifies families in need, raises money, and then raises roofs with donations and volunteers.  The Keller home in Uniontown is the 10th HfH house built in our area.

A house was recently completed in Uniontown and the Keller family is the proud new owner!  We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on the house, most recently in October.  A group of about 20, including 2 Boys Scouts from our Troop #460, went out to work on the home on Saturday, October 29.  Most of the work was outside - moving and leveling topsoil to prepare for seeding, spreading gravel between the street and and sidewalk along the front of the house and preparing a section along the side of the house for landscape bark.  The weather was beautiful, the fellowship was fun and the results are amazing!  Thanks to all who helped.  There's always work to be done with our local Palouse Habitat for Humanity affiliate. contact them at  (208) 883-8502 or e-mail habitat@moscow.com.  To learn more about Habitat for Humanity, visit http://www.habitat.org/
