Little Dresses for AfricaSewing simple dresses for girls in African orphanages was the focus of a workshop on Saturday, October 29 in the Fellowship Hall at Simpson United Methodist Church. A group of about 15 gathered to cut fabric, sew and decorate these dresses from pillowcases! The results are beautiful! A dozen completed dresses are hanging in the sanctuary and many other "kits" are out being sewn around the Palouse. We expect to complete about 50 dresses. These will add to the 90 dresses made at our last workshop, part of the 500,00 dresses that have been distributed in 31 African countries over the last 6 years!
Pre-assembled "kits" with fabric and trim are still available in the church office if you're interested in making a dress. Or call (509 332-5212) if you have questions.
