Caring for Our Church Family
"Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another". John 13:34
In response to Jesus’ commandment, Simpson’s nurturing ministry supports those within our Church who experience health issues or other concerns. A small team coordinates activities, and other church members maintain contact with shut-ins through visits or calls, writing cards and notes, preparing occasional meals, providing rides to Sunday worship and other church events, and hosting Bible studies and teas for those residing in care facilities.
As our prayer list grows, so does the opportunity to share God’s love with others by becoming one of Simpson’s nurturers. Are you able to:
· Partner with another member to visit a shut-in or resident of a care facility,
· Write a couple of birthday cards or notes of encouragement each month,
· Prepare a meal for an individual or family,
· Provide a ride to church on Sunday, or to a special church activity,
· Join others in hosting a coffee hour at a care facility?
Caring for Our Church Home
Trustees invite us to a work party before Easter and Christmas to prepare our building for visitors. Summer work groups focus on maintenance and renovation of our facilities.
Groups in Service
A basic element of our small groups is that they serve together. They identify a need in their neighborhood or community and work together to share God’s love.
Connecting Team
This group organizes gatherings to help us build community. These events include Finger Food Fellowships, Summer Socials, a Welcome Back Barbeque, and others.
